Obituary for William Channing Pollock William Channing Pollock
Worked 30 Years With Western Electric Co.

William Channing (Bill) Pollock, 77, of Natural Bridge, Virginia, passed away Friday, June 15, 2007 in the presence of his loving family.

Mr. Pollockw as born in Roanoke, Virginia, on February 7, 1930 to Elmer Pollock and Francis Dowdy Pollock.

He graduated from Natural Bridge High School and attended Rutgers University.

He served as an NCO with the United States Marine Corps in the Korean War.

In 1952, he married Antionette DeFabio, and they raised their three children in South River, New Jersey.

After 30 years with Western Electric, he retired to Natural Bridge.

He was an active member of the Ruritan Club and served as treasurer for seven years. In 1991, Mr. Pollock helped co-found the Natural Bridge Fire Department, for which he served as treasurer for eight years.

Mr. Pollock was proud to spend his retired years enjoying his farm, which his children and grandchildren often called "Home".

Mr. Pollock will be remembered by many for the amazing dignity, strength, integrity, wisdom, and compassion with which he conducted himself through all of his days.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons: William C. Pollock Jr. and wife, Suzanne of Flemmington, NJ; Thomas J. Pollock and wife, Jane of South Plainfield, NJ: one daughter, Sherri P. Sos and husband, Martin of Westminster County; one brother, David Pollock and wife, Linda of Glasgow; one sister, Joyce P. Amos of Boones Mill; seven grandchildren: Jason P. Pollock and wife, Karen; Lindsey M. Pollock, Jodie L. Pollock, Michael Sos and wife, Lauren; Adam Sos, Kaitlyn S. Pollock and two great grandchildren: Lily Pollock and Tyler Pollock.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2007 at the High Bridge Presbyterian Church with the Dr. Louis Skidmore officiating with burial to follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Roanoke, Virginia at 12:15 p.m. Monday. Donations may be made to the Natural Bridge Fire Department. The family received friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2007 at the Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington.
