Alta Joyce Gable Rowe, 82, of the Richfield Retirement Center in Salem (formerly of Buena Vista), went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, June 26, 2007.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm R. Rowe.

Surviving are two sons: Ted Rowe and wife, Barbara, of San Rafael, California and Neil Rowe and wife, Jan, of Springfield, Virginia; two daughters: Barbara Barbour and husband, Dennis, of Roanoke; Martha Johnson and husband, Mark, of Southport, NC; six grandchildren; and one brother, Stewart Gable of Ypsilanti, Michigan.

A memorial service was conducted at the Richfield Retirement Center, 3615 W. Main St., Salem, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Elevaor Fund, c/o Fort Hill United Methodist Church, 106 Oakridge Boulevard, Lynchburg, Va. 24502.
