Winfred McClung "Fred" Sorrells, 87, of Lexington, died Wednesday, September 26, 2007 in Shenandoah Valley Health Care Center, Buena Vista.

He was born April 19, 1920 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late James Thomas Sorrells and Cora Lee Irvine Sorrells.

He is survived by two brothers: Leonard D. Sorrells, Lexington; Bernard M. Sorrells, Staunton; and a sister, Dorothy Armstrong, Lexington.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at the Harrison Funeral Chapel with Rev. Larry Miles officiating. Burial will follow in the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Lexington Life Saving and First Aid or Rockbridge Area Hospice.
