Allen Kirk Walters, 56, of Lexington, Virginia, died November 19, 2007 in the VA Hospital in Salem.

Allen was born April 7, 1951 in Philadelphia, PA.

A long time resident of Buchanan, Roanoke and more recently Lexington, he was a Realtor with Prudential Commonwealth Realty in Lexington.

He is survived by his son, Jason; a daughter-in-law, Saundra; an adored granddaughter, Gwen of Indianapolis, IN; brothers: Bruce Walters of Boise, Idaho and Wayne Walters of Roanoke; special friends: Laura Clark, Marge McMullen, Kim Volpe, his entire Prudential family, Jay McGuigan, Ann McGuigan, Beth Steward and Bill Koetting.

Being the amazing man he was, Allen had requested that his body be donated to the VA State Anatomical Program for study and research in medical science and was an organ donor.

A private family service will be held at a later date. The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association of "save7lives.org," a VA organ and tissue donor organization.

Mr. Walters had been waiting for a heart transplant.
