Obituary for Jane Kennedy Firebaugh Wade Jane Kennedy Firebaugh Wade
She Retired From The Bank Of Rockbridge In 1984

Jane Kennedy Firebaugh Wade, 88, of Raphine, went to be with the Lord on December 19, 2007.

She was born November 26, 1919 in Rockbridge County, VA, a daughter of the late John Greenlee Firebaugh and Ossie Elizabeth Dunlap Firebaugh.

She was also preceded in death by her hudband, Charles Winston Wade, Sr; sister, Elizabeth Firebaugh Alexander; brothers, John, James, Robert, and Roy Firebaugh.

For many years, Jane and Winston owned and operated Wade's Mill in Raphine. She was a longtime employee of the Bank of Rockbridge where she managed the Brownsburg branch until her retirement in 1984.

Since her marriage to Winston in 1946, she was also an active member of the New Providence Presbyterian Church. After her retirement to Sunnyside Presbyterian Retirement Community, Jane became an associate member of the First Presbyterian Church of Harrisonburg.

She is survived by two sons and their wives: Charles W. Wade, Jr. and Susan Umberger Wade, Lexington and David D. Wade and Anne Brown Wade, Fairfield. Jane has six grandchildren, Jennifer Wade Brown and husband, Chris, Grace Wade Bauer and husband, Mike, Winston B. Wade and Virginia Wintermeyer, Charles R. Wade, Sarah E. Wade, and Ella M. Wade; three very special great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard C. Firebaugh; special nieces, Linda Firebaugh Nungesser and Harriet Firebaugh Majorcorth; brother-in-law, R. Tate Alexander and sister-in-law, Gladys Firebaugh; brother and sisters-in-law, Jim and Blair Wade; Frances Wade Sterrett and Mary Alice Wade Talbot; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at New Providence Presbyterian Church in Raphine at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 22, 2007, with Rev. Christopher Crotwell and Rev. Carl Moore officiating. A memorial service will be held at Sunnyside Presbyterian Retirement Community at a later date. Jane had requested that donations be made in her memory to the Sunnyside Communities Fellowship Fund, 600L University Blvd., Harrisonburg, VA 22801-3763. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
