Obituary for Ralph William Staton Ralph William Staton
Fairfield Resident Victim Of Cancer

Ralph William Staton, 66, of Fairfield, went home to be with the Lord after a long, valiant fight with cancer on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at home with his family.

He was born May 4, 1941 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Love and Effie Coleman Staton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Chase Marion Staton.

Mr. Staton is survived by his wife, Edith Spence Staton; a daughter, Lori Staton Teague and husband, Tony, of Fairfield; a son, Gregory Delmas Staton and wife, Tina R. Staton, of Fairfield; seven brothers: henry Staton, Larry Staton, Lloyd Staton, of Buena Vista; Rosevelt Staton, Bobby Staton, of Fairfield; Ronnie Staton of Fishersville and Charles Staton of Richmond; four sisters: Virginia Statome of Buena Vista, Shirley Moore of Lexington, Barbara Mace of Fairfield and Priscilla Sorrells of Goshen; and four grandchildren: Bryce and Bailey Teague and Grace and Emma Staton.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2008 at the First Brethren Church, Buena Vista, with Pastor Lester Kennedy officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local Hospice. The family received friends on Friday, February 15, 2008 at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Buena Vista, Virginia.
