Obituary for Carmen T. Croushorn Carmen T. Croushorn
She Was A Homemaker; Member Of Fairfield United Methodist Church

Carmen Tasker Croushorn, age 94, of Fairfield, VA, died February 21, 2008 at her home on her farm, Hilltop View Farm.

She was born August 29, 1913 in Rockingham County, daughter of the late Edgar Tasker and Ettie Carmen Hanger Tasker Fitzsimons, and is the last surviving member of the Tasker family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin N. Croushorn (1996) and her son George Nicholas Croushorn (1987).

She is survived by her son, Nelson Lee Croushorn and his wife, Susan Coleman-Croushorn of Raphine, a daughter-in-law Joyce Croushorn of Fairfield; two grandsons, Jason L. Croushorn and his wife Jennifer Croushorn of Raphine, and Jeffrey S. Croushorn of Natural Bridge; two granddaughters, Wanda Allen and Donna Langfitt and her husband Melvin Langfitt of Fairfield; four great-granddaughters, one great-grandson, two great-great-grandsons, one niece and two very special friends, Helen Wagner and Dot Eakin.

Special thanks are extended to Dr. H. Lynn Moore, and AMC Home Health Care for their many years of extended care, and AMC Hospice of the Shenandoah for their loving care during her final weeks.

Carmen was a homemaker and a member of the Fairfield United Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends at the Harrison Funeral Home in Lexington on Sunday, February 24, 2008, from 3 to 5 p.m., and any other time at the home of Nelson and Sue Croushorn, 57 Steeles Fort Road, Raphine. A graveside service will be conducted at Mount Carmel Presbyterian Church in Steeles Tavern, VA on Monday, February 25, 2008, at 11 a.m. Presiders will be Pastor Jim Simmons of the Fairfield United Methodist Church and Reverend Doug Gunsalus of New Hope.

Donations may be made to the Fairfield United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 69, Fairfield, VA 24435 or the AMC Hospice of the Shenandoah, P. O. Box 215, Fishersville, VA 22939.
