Helen Virginia Floyd Slough, 88, of Lexington, died Friday, February 29, 2008 in Heritage Hall.

She was born September 15, 1919 in Lexington, a daughter of the late Estil E. and Minta Perrnelia Hostetter Floyd.

Mrs. Slough was a graduate of Parry McCluer High School and was a member of the Manly Memorial Baptist Church.

She attended services at Grace Chapel and Heritage Hall.

Surviving are a daughter, Joyce Ann Higgins; a son, Donald Wayne Floyd, Sr., both of Lexington; a sister, Marguerite Claytor, Buena Vista; a brother, Kenneth M. Floyd, Hampton; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2008 at the Harrison Funeral Chapel with Pastor Butch Grow officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
