County Native Was Deaconess Of Her Church

Deborah Joyce Mays Cauley, 60, of Buena Vista, died peacefully in her home, Saturday, March 8, 2008.

She was born August 17, 1947 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of Ellen Reasoner and the late Naaman S. Mays.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Mays.

She was a member of the Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she was a Deaconess.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Harry (Butch) Cauley; stepfather, Walt Reasoner; a son, James (Popcorn) Cauley and fiancee, Michelle Hahn; two daughters: Messica Wills and husband, Gene and Amber Bowden and husband, Mike; seven grandchildren: Megan Dudley, Logan Wills, Grace Bowden, Payton Cauley, Jonathan, Joseph, and Gregory Mays; three siblings: Naaman Mays, Jr. and wife, Rachael; Barry mays and wife, Brenda; and David Mays and wife, Rhonda; many special nieces and nephews; and her loving and supportive church family.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 13, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. W. A. Mills and Rev. David Bain officiating. Burial will follow in the Grant Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at the Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Arrangements are being handled by the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Buena Vista, Virginia.
