Harold Stonewall Hart, 77, of Rockbridge Baths, died Tueday, March 11, 2008 in the Augusta Medical Center.

He was born September 3, 1930 in Spotsylvania County, a son of the late Raymond and Nina Withrow Hart.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Hart and Boyd Hart; a sister, Phyllis Hart Vanderveer, and a son, David Hart.

He was retired from Virginia Power after twenty years of service.

Mr. Hart was a security guard for fifty-four years, the most recent being at the Virginia Horse Center.

He is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Shirley hart; two sons: Paul Hart and wife, Lydia, of Fairfax; and John Raymond Hart and wife, Joann, of Goshen; two daughters: Christine Ann Wood and husband, Jeffrey, of Vesuvius; and Lorraine Smith and husband, Robert, of Los Angeles; fourteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three brothers: Palmer Hart, Lawrence Don Hart and wife, Gladys, all of Rockbridge Baths; and Eugene Hart, and wife, Ruby, of North Carolina.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2008 at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with Rev. Wyatt Mays officiating. Burial will follow in the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2008 at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Buena Vista, Virginia.
