Obituary for David James Hunkin David James Hunkin
David James Hunkin, 64, of Lexington, died Friday, March 28, 2008 at his residence.

David was born August 8, 1943 in Liecester, England, a son of the late William Arthur James Calloway and Rose Hunkin.

Mr. Hunkin was employed as a truck driver for Shenandoah Trucking in Verona.

Prior to driving for Shenandoah Trucking, he was employed as the plant manager at Spartanburg Textiles, in Spartanburg, SC and a district manager with Combined Insurance Company.

David also was a member of the Outer Banks Preservation Association, and as a child, he was involved in the Churches of the Salvation Army.

In addition to his mother of England, Mr. Hunkin is survived by two sons: Jonathan Hunkin of Franklin, Tennessee and Ian Hunkin; a daughter, Debra Lean; two sisters: Linda and Sandra, all of England; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington.

A celebration of David's life will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. Monday during the visitation. Those desiring may make memorial donations to the Outer Banks Preservation Association, P. O. Box 1355, Buxton, NC 27920.

Arrangements are being handled by the Harrison Funeral Home and Crematory, Lexingto.
