Obituary for Estoria (Toni) Paulk Pence Estoria (Toni) Paulk Pence
Taught Her Children To "Love Everybody"

Estoria (Toni) Paulk Pence, age 90, died on April 10.

She was a loving, gentle mother, grand and great, and great great grandmother.

She is survived by her five children. Three sons: Robert D. Howell of San Antonio, TX, Paul E. Pence Jr. of Richmond, Utah, and Phillip E. Pence of Buena Vista, VA; two daughters: Jeanette H. Mark of Story, WY; and Paula E. Black of Warrenton, VA; 25 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren; and a sister, Eston Chistie of Lakeland, Florida.

A family memorial service will be held at a future date in Buena Vista, Virginia.

Toni was born January 5, 1918, was orphaned at age 8 and helped her grandmother raise her 2 younger siblings. She married the late Robert Howell.

She worked as a dietician at Florida Southern University until 1948 and married the late Paul Pence Sr. of Shenandoah, Virginia and ived in McLearn, Virginia for most of her married life.

She was a devoted wife and mother. She taught her children to "love everybody," and was gentle and kind. Late in life when asked how she was, she would answer, "I can still dance the Charleston."

Mimmy, keep on dancin'.

Arrangements are being handled by the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Buena Vista, Virginia.
