Sadie Virginia (Brooks) Fitzgerald, 93, of Lexington, died Saturday, May 10, 2008 at her residence.

Mrs. Fitzgerald was born on August 10, 1914 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Charles Winston and Mary Sue Lotts Brooks.

She was a member of the Lauderdale A.R.P. Church and was retired as a nursing assistant at the Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

Surviving is a special nephew: David L. Ruley of Lexington; a special niece, Mrs. Joyce R. Snider of Buena Vista; and special great-nieces: Lisa R. Hostetter, Karey R. Ramsey and Sarah R. Clark.

Ms. Fitzgerald is also survived by other nieces and nephews along with several great nieces and great nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2008 in the Harrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
