Henry C. Sorrells, 84, of Lexington, died Wednesday, July 16, 2008.

He was born February 9, 1924 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Marvin and Julia Ann Clark Sorrells.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Aline Sorrells; a daughter, Carol Ann Sorrells; and a grandson, Michael Andrew Sorrells.

Mr. Sorrells was a member of Bible Church at Rockbridge.

Surviving are a son, Charles H. Sorrells; two daughters, Nancy G. Wade and Wanda L. Troxell, all of Lexington; sisters, Leatha West, of Lexington, and Madeline St. Clair, of Eagle Rock, VA; eight grandchildren, Stacey Wade, Dawn Wade Riley, Charles Lee Sorrells, Melinda Sorrells Breeden, Susan Fix, Matt Fix, Danny Fix, David Fix; and eight great-grandchildren, Ryan Scott Fix, Jory Fix, Andrew Fix, Luke Riley, Grace Riley, Destiny Breeden, DeLana Breeden and Kayla Trent.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2008 at Bethany Lutheran Cemetery with Rev George Warden officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
