Obituary for Carl Whitmore Hostetter Carl Whitmore Hostetter
Lexington Resident Dies At Age 85

Carl Whitmore Hostetter, 85, of Lexington, died Wednesday, September 3, 2008 in Roanoke Memoral Hospital.

He was born October 22, 1922 in Virginia, a son of the late Herbert Kyle Hostetter and Myrtle Knick Hostetter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James E. (Bunk) Hostetter and a sister, Clara H. Ayers.

Surviving are his wife, Bertha Moore Hostetter; three daughters, Patricia H. Knick, Lexington, Betsy H. Floyd, Waynesboro, and Phyllis H. Lineberry, Lexington; two sisters, Stella H. Higgins and Loreane H. Barger, Lexington; a brother, Curtis Hostetter, Lexington; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, one great, great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 6, 2008 at Harrison Funeral Chapel with Rev. Zeb Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ebenezer ARP Church, 1610 W. Midland Trail, Lexington, VA 24450.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday, September 5, 2008 at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
