Robert Richard Snider, 93, of Raphine, died Wednesday, September 3, 2008 in Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

He had been a resident of The Mayflower for the past year.

Mr. Snider was born September 11, 1914 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Joseph Henry Snider and Lydia Arehart Snider.

Surviving are his wife, Evelyn M. Snider; a son, Jerry Lee Snider and wife, Patricia, of Raphine; a sister, Lydia Margaret Topping, of Fairfield; and one grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 6, 2008 at Harrison Funeral Chapel with Rev. Al Fogleman officiating. Burial will follow in the Ludwick Cemetery, Fairfield.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to New Mt. Olive Lutheran Church.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, September 5, 2008 at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
