Obituary for Robert Edward Sensabaugh Robert Edward Sensabaugh
County Native Worked Was Retired Operator From VMI

Robert Edward Sensabaugh, 83, of Lexington, Virginia, died Friday, October 24, 2008 in the Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

Mr. Sensabaugh was born August 9, 1925 in Rockbridge County. He was the son of the late James Edward Sensabaugh and Elsie Riley Sensabaugh and was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Potter Sensabaugh.

He was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church and was a retired operator at the Virginia Military Institute.

He is survived by a daughter, Gail L. Gilbert and husband, William "Jack" Gilbert of Lexington; and a stepson, Monte William Dale and his mother, Ola D. Sensabaugh, both of Lexington; five siblings: Sally Smith of Lexington, Brown Sensabaugh of Buena Vista, Buck Sensabaugh of Rockbridge, Amos Sensabaugh of Augusta and Andy Sensabaugh of North Carolina; two grandchildren: Susan McDaniel and husband, Greg, of Natural Bridge Station and Kenneth Johnson and wife, Crystal of Waynesboro; six great grandchildren: Robert, Hunter, Dillon Sherri, Sharon, and Samantha; and one great great grandchild, Jeffery.

Funeral services will be held at the Harrison Funeral Chapel, Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dean Staton officiating. Burial will follow at the Collierstown Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 28, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Va.
