Was Former Telegraph Operator With The C&O Railroad, Retired From ARH

Doris Virginia Ingledew Stull, 80, of 1237 Grace Avenue, Clifton Forge, died, Saturday, November 8, 2008 at her residence.

She was born February 14, 1928 at New Castle, a daughter of the late George and Ruby Crawford Ingledew.

Mrs. Stull was a former telegraph operator with the former C & O Railroad. She retired as a diary supervisor from Alleghany Regional Hospital. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church and was a member of the Embroiders Guild.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stull was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Davis Stull in 1963 and also by a grandson, Michael Higgins.

Surviving are two daughters, Pattie Higgins and her husband, Harry of Covington and Doris Ann Stull of Clifton Forge; three granddaughters: Rose Kumar and her husband, Pawan of Clifton Forge; Desiree Huffman of Lexington and Christina Stull of Philadelphia, PA; one grandson, Jason David Higgins of Covington; one great grandson, Charles Daman Kumar of Clifton Forge; three sisters: Janie Craft and her husband, Gene of Troutville; Carol Rowland and her husband Gene of Florence, KY and Lucille Jones and her husband Frank of Troutville; one brother, George Ingledew and his wife, Catherine of Decatur, GA; a sister-in-law, Joyce Stull of Eagle Rock; and several nieces, nephews and the special Grace Avenue neighbors.

The funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 11, 2008 in the Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Emmett Dobbs officiating, assisted by Rev. Roger Bush.

The interment will follow in Galatia Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Pawan Kumar, Marvin White, Lyle Gleason, Jeff Spalding, Greg Rohre, Bob Turner, Curtis Nelson and Steve Arthur. Alternates will be Virgil Woody and Bill Bursey.

The family will receive their friends this evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home and also from 1 p.m. until service time at the church on Tuesday.
