Gladys Bryant Slough 93, of Buena Vista, died Wednesday, November 12, 2008 in Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

She was born August 11, 1915 in Buena Vista, a daughter of the late William Doc Bryant and Lillian Sailes Bryant.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond T. Slough.

She was a member of St. John United Methodist Church, Buena Vista and worked at Burlington Industries for 26 years.

Surviving are two daughters, Shelby Wells and Becky Slough, of Buena Vista; two sisters, Ruth Merritt, of NC, and Mary Ramsey, of Monroe, VA; two brothers, James Bryant, of Buena Vista, and Ronnie Bryant, of Greenville; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 17, 2008 at Green Hill Cemetery with Rev. John Choi officiating. The family will receive friends at the home, 2424 Birch Ave., Buena Vista, VA.
