Obituary for Charles Reuben Bare Charles Reuben Bare
County Farmer Also Worked With Baker Brothers

Charles Reuben Bare, 93, of Lexington, son of the late Reuben and Grace Moore Bare, died on Sunday, December 7, 2008 at the Golden Living Center.

He was preceded in death by Hannah Smith Bare, his wife of 67 years.

He had lived on a part of his great grandfather's farm until shortly before his death.

In his early years, he was actively involved in farming with his father. He then worked for many years at Baker Brothers, a Staunton machinery company.

He is survived by a nephew, Edgar Reuben Bare, of Maryland; and nieces: Brenda Bare and Nancy Bare of Northern Virginia; cousin, Peggy Graybeal; and very close friends, Sharon and Buck Holland, who supplied loving support throughout his life and especially during his final illness.

He is also survived by eight great nieces and nephews; and 12 great great nieces and several cousins.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at the Harrison Funeral Home with Dr. William Klein officiating. Burial will follow at the Stonewall Jackson Cemetery.

Freinds and family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, December 8, 2008.

Arrangements are being handled by the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
