World War II Veteran Was Awarded The Bronze Star

Arthur Wesley Clark, 89, of Buena Vista, Virginia, died on Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at the Stonewall Jackson Hospital in Lexington, Virginia.

Arthur was born on June 17, 1919 in Vesuvius, Virginia, to the late William Boyd and Christina Southers Clark.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Larry Wade Clark; eight brothers: Marion, Guy, Herbert, Wilmer, Ward, Walter, Herman and Layton Clark; and four sisters: Grace C. Clark, Sally C. Clark, Mazie C. Lilley, and Maggie C. Stickley.

Arthur was a World War II veteran, receiving both the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.

He was retired from Georgia Bonded Fibers in Buena Vista, Virginia.

Arthur is survived by two sons: Wayne L. Clark and his wife, Kim of Waynesboro, Virginia; and Dennis W. Clark and his wife, Patricia of Glen Allen, Virginia; four grandchildren: Scott W. Clark and his wife, Alyssa of Stuarts Draft, VA; Troy N. Clark and his wife, Candis of Midlothian, VA; Tiffani C. Ereso and her husband, Dennis of Glen Allen, Va; and Tristen L. Clark and her fiance, Dr. Patrick Maeng of Birmingham, AL; and four great grandchildren: Felicia Clark, Cole Clark, Lola clark and Madelyn Ereso.

He is also survived by his former wife and dear friend, Dolly Clark of Buena Vista, VA; and a special nephew, Roger Dale Clark and his wife, Vickie of Fairfield, VA.

Arthur is also survived by many other special nieces and nephews.

A memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 29, 2008 at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel, Buena Vista, with burial in the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 28, 2008 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Buena Vista, Virginia.
