Richard Samuel Via, 67, of Covington, and formerly of Troutville, died Friday, December 26, 2008.

Mr. Via was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Beulah Hite Via, and bother, Henny Via.

He loved life and lived it to the fullest.

Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-law, Richard Shane Via of Powhatan; and Ricky Stuart and Michelle Via of Peterstown, WV; granddaughters: Kayla Via of Peterstown, WV and Shana Via of Dublin; and a sister, Joyce Landrum of Clifton Forge, VA; special friends: Robert and Vicky Morgan, B. J. Kerns and Zach Kerns, Connie and family.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 between 1 and 4 p.m. in the Buchanan chapel of the Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, buchanana, Va. (254-3000).
