Dorothy M. McCallister, 86, of Buena Vista, died Saturday, January 3, 2009 in Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

She was born May 4, 1922 in Fulton County, PA, a daughter of the late Elmer F. and Catherine Mellots Clevenger.

Surviving are her husband, William Roy McCallister, Sr.; a son, William Roy McCallister, Jr. of Buena Vista; two daughters, Sonja McCallister Hall of Lexington and Elaine Elizabeth Hamilton of Buena Vista; two sisters, Frances Beverly and Virginia Kupp of Buena Vista; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Buena Vista Rescue Squad, P O Box 668, Buena Vista, VA 24416.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home and a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2009 at Blue Ridge Church.
