Obituary for Charlie Leuna Cash Charlie Leuna Cash
Raphine Resident Was DuPont Retiree

Charlie Leuna Cash, 87, husband of Reba (Lotts) Cash of 85 Beulah Drive, Raphine, formerly of Spottswood, died Monday, Jan. 5, 2009 at the Blue Ridge Christian Home.

He was born June 30, 1921 in Vesuvius, a son of Harry H. and Gertrude (Weeks) Cash.

Prior to retirement, Mr. Cash had been employed by DuPont for 41 years.

He was a member of Old Providence ARP Church, where he served as deacon, elder and trustee. He also was a member of Spottswood-Raphine Ruritan Club for 60 years, where he served as president and treasurer.

In addition to his wife, family members include two sons and daughters-in-law: Erskine H. and Wilhelmina Cash of Centre Hall, Pa., and Charlie L. (C.L.) and Beth Cash of Kearneysville, W.Va.; two daughters and sons-in-law: Wanda Cash and Chris Ragland of Alexandria and Karleen Cash and John Arehart of Greenville; a brother and sister-in-law, Tracey H. and Lucille Cash of Raphine; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Edna Earl and Ray Painter of Steeles Tavern and Isabelle Cash of Raphine; 11 grandchildren: Nancy Ragland Perkins, Mark Ragland, Chad Cash, Lori Cash Voight, John Arehart III, Julie Arehart Longley, Jeremy Arehart, Chuck (Charlie) Cash and Cooper, Shane and Staci Cash; and eight great-grandchildren: Lucy Perkins, Alexis and Grant Cash, Hunter, Elizabeth and James Voight, Ella Arehart and Oso Cash. He was preceded in death by a sister, Molly Sorrells.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009 in Old Providence ARP Church by the Rev. H. Max Bolin. A private burial service will be conducted in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. today, Jan. 7, 2009, at Henry Funeral Home.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Beulah Land for their love and care over the past four years and to Elizabeth Earhart for always being a good friend and neighbor.
