Obituary for Ruth Wiley Firebaugh Ruth Wiley Firebaugh
Botetourt Native Attended Grace Brethren, Faith Baptist Church

Ruth Wiley Firebaugh, 88, of 202 W. Persinger St., Covington, Va., went home to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, December 11, 2009 at the Brian Center in Low Moor.

Mrs. Firebaugh was born April 27, 1920 at North Folk in Botetourt County, a daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Tayor Wiley.

She was a member of the Grace Brethren Church and attended the Faith Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Firebaugh was preceded in death by her husband, Fred G. Firebaugh in 1988 and also by seven sisters and one brother.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Jay Lockhart of Covington; a son, Freddie Jerome Firebaugh of Danville; one grandson, the Rev. Dr. Jay Firebaugh and his wife, Janet of Gahanna, Ohio; two great grandchildren: Joanna Firebaugh of Shawnee, OK, and Joe Firebaugh of Bahanna, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, January 15, 2009 at 2 p.m. in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Price officiating, assisted by the Rev. John Burnham. Interment will follow in the Alleghany Memorial Park.

Friends may pay their respects any time at the Arritt Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at teh funeral home. An online guestbook is available at arrittfuneralhome.com
