NY Giants Fan Worked With Lear Corporation, Goodwill Industries

John Edward "Harley" Miner, Jr., age 57, of 2504 Jackson River Road, Covington, died Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at his residence.

He was born January 20, 1951 in Newark, New Jersey, a son of the late John Miner, Sr. and Virginia Hull Miner.

He was a former employee of Lear Corporation and more recently Assistant Janitorial Supervisor for Goodwill Industries.

He was an avid New York Giants fan.

He is survived by his wife, Angelika "Angie" Bellefleur Miner of Covington; three sons: Derek John "DJ" Miner and fiancee Shirley of Roanoke; David Brian Bergeron and wife, Michelle of Derry, NH; and Joe Reynolds of Roanoke; a daughter, Laura Theresa Bergeron of Waynesboro; four sisters and brothers: Kathy Ruffles and husband Doug, Susan Body and husband Doug, Charles Miner, and Jeff Miner, all of Newtown, CT; four grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Bishop Dan Campbell officiating.

Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Covington.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home and other times at the Miner residence.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Falling Springs Fire and Rescue Department, 303 Friels Drive, Covington, VA 24426.
