Hugh Thomas Bane, 84, of Lexington, died Wednesday, January 14, 2009.

He was born July 1, 1924 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Lee Gratton Bane and Maggie Georgie Bradds Bane.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Irene Hostetter Bane and a daughter, Maggie Jane Bane.

Surviving are his children, Elizabeth Ann Bane Sensabaugh of Middlebrook; Calvin Thomas Bane of Lexington; and Linda Irene Entsminger of Fairfield, who was daddy's special caregiver, so he could be at home before he graduated to Heaven; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 19, 2009 at Harrison Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tom Cochran officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Lexington Life Saving Crew, 350 Spottswood Dr., Lexington, VA 24450 or Rockbridge Area Hospice, P. O. Box 948, Lexington, VA 24450. The family will receive friends from 3 - 5 p.m. Sunday, January 18, 2009 at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
