Obituary for Steven Patrick Steven Patrick
Electrician Worked With MeadWestvaco For 32 Years

Steven Patrick, 92, of 1006 E. Dolly Ann Drive, Covington, Va, died Friday evening (January 16, 2009) at Alleghany Regional Hospital in Low Moor.

He was born May 18, 1916 in Troy, New York, a son of the late Michael Patrick, Sr. and Mary Andrews Patrick.

Mr. Patrick served his country during World War II with the U.S. Army.

An electrician who worked in the Planning Department with MeadWestvaco, he retired after 32 years of service.

He was a member of Mallow Presbyterian Church and the Curtis A. Smith Post 1033, Veterans of Foreign Wars; The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was an avid Sportsman and woodworker.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Fridley Patrick in 2000 and one brother, John Patrick; and three sisters: Kay Windover, Marie Patrick and Ann Kulczychi.

Mr. Patrick is survived by two daughters, Karen Austin and her husband, Robin of Covington and Libby Daris of Milwaukee; two sons, Michael Patrick III of Salem and Steven Patrick, Jr. and his wife, Pamela of Cape May, NJ; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one sister, Rosalyn Wallace and her husband, Bob of Troy, NY and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Graveside at Fletcher Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Gary Marshall officiating.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. at the Arritt Funeral Home.

Arrangements are being handled by the Arritt Funeral Home, Covington, Virginia.
