Was Retired Driver For Alleghany Ready Mix

Theodore Burton (Buddy) Jones, 74 of 1208 Summit Drive, Covington, Virginia, died Thursday, March 26, 2009 at Alleghany Regional Hospital in Low Moor.

He was born September 8, 1934 in Alleghany County, a son of the late Cecil and Cindy Wright Jones.

Mr. Jones retired in 1978 as a driver for Alleghany Ready Mix after eleven years with the company.

He was a member of the Highland Chapel Christian Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Fridley Jones in 2000 and also by five brothers and one half sister.

Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law: Sona and Quentin Tucker, Lisa and Russell Tucker and Sarah and James Arrington, all of Covington; five grandchidlren and eight great grandchildren; a half sister, Chessie Bogar of Covington; special brother-in-law, Jimmy Fridley of Covington; a special friend, Betty Smith of Covington and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 29, 2009 in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J.B. Broughman officiating.

The interment will be made in Lone Star Cemetery.

The family will receive their friends Sunday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. at the Arritt Funeral Home and at other times at home of Sona and Quentin Tucker at 6710 Bens Run Road, Covington, Va. The Arritt Funeral Home, Covington, Virginia, is in charge of the arrangements.
