Auto Mechanic Worked At Pinehurst Exxon For 20 Years

Raymond Lynwood "Rookie" Deisher, 51, of 37 Alleghany Street, Clifton Forge died Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at his residence.

He was born July 19, 1957 in Clifton Forge, a son of the late Elwood Grant Deisher, Sr.

He was a auto mechanic who worked for Pinehurst Exxon for twenty years, and was a member of the Clifton Forge Moose Lodge # 1683, and the Clifton Forge Elks Lodge B.P.O.E # 1065.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a step father, Kenny Newland.

Mr. Deisher is survived by his mother Helen I. Deisher Niday and step father, Gordon Niday of Troutville; a daughter, Shannon Chasity Dawn Hyler of Covington, three brothers,: Elwood G. Deisher, Jr. and wife, Lisa, of Clifton Forge; William L. Deisher of Clifton Forge, and Timothy Newland of Roanoke, a sister, Mary E. Childs and husband, Clyde of Botetourt County; three grandchildren: Isaiah, Aisha, and Ayden; several nieces and nephews; and a number of special friends, Denise Brown, Carolyn Deacon, Wanda Fridley, Joe Kern, Danny "Crazy" Hall, and the Moose Lodge Family.

A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with the Reverend Steve Dollar and Reverend Bill Dillon officiating. Interment will follow in Longdale Baptist Church Cemetery in Botetourt County. Pallbearers will be Danny "Crazy" Hall, Elwood Deisher, Jr., Randy Leeman, Dave Hansberger, Everett Tyree, and Steve Berry. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home, and any time at the residence of Elwood and Lisa Deisher, 621 Roxbury Street, Clifton Forge.
