Obituary for Ramona Joyce Durham Ramona Joyce Durham
Lifelong Member Of Windy Cove Church

Ramona Joyce Durham, 75, formerly of Millboro, VA, died on Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Carrington Place in Daleville, VA after a lengthy illness.

She was born April 8, 1934 in Millboro, a daughter of the late Alice Smith Howell.

She was a lifelong homemaker and member of Windy Cove Presbyterian Church. She served the church in many ways, including as elder, on various committees, including at the Presbytery level, and well as Sunday School teacher. She was well known for providing beautiful flower arrangements for the sanctuary.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband Richard E. Durham, a brother Mark Curtis, Jr., and a sister Virginia Tingler.

Surviving are a daughter, Judy Durham of Verona; a daughter and son-in-law, Lucy and Michael Lindsay of Warrenton; a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Susan Durham of Roanoke,; six grandchildren: Ginger Kennedy, Megan and Hillary Lindsay, Lyndsay, Joseph, and Corinn Durham; and one great-grandson, Aidan McCool. She is also survived by a sister, Nancy Cigas; a brother, Andy Howell; brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Barbara Howell and Tommy and Nora Howell, and sisters-in-law, Frances McClaughry, Ruby Durham, and Nancy Durham.

She is also survived by Jane Sawyer, Curt, Cheryl, Loren, and Kate Sawyer, Tracy and Zachary Puffenbarger, and a number of nieces, nephews, and special friends.

A memorial service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in Windy Cove Presbyterian Church, Millboro Springs, with Reverend Rob Sherrard officiating. A private interment will take place in Lyle's Chapel Cemetery, Millboro. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Windy Cove Presbyterian Church.

The Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, is in charge of arrangements.
