Obituary for Sandy Elmo Camper Sandy Elmo Camper
Farmer Was Former Deputy Sheriff, Local School Bus Driver

Sandy Elmo Camper passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2009.

He was born in Rockbridge County on May 5, 1915 to the late Sandy P. and Maggie Shoemaker Camper.

Mr. Camper was preceded ind eath by five brothers, three sisters and his former wife, Frances Burks Camper.

He was a lifelong member of the Neriah Baptist Church.

He was a farmer, a Rockbridge County deputy sheriff, and owned and operated a school bus for Rockbridge County Schools.

Mr. Camper is survived by two sons: Sandy Elmo Camper Jr. and wife, Sylvia of Rockbridge County; and Dennis Edward Camper of Evington; a granddaughter, Bonnie Fix and husband, DeWitt of Lexington; two great grandchildren: Wittnie Mason and husband, Adam and Matthew Fix and wife, Dylan; a sister, Frances Ward of Roanoke; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family received friends on Sunday at the Harrison Funeral Home.

A graveside service was conducted on Monday, May 18, 2009 at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Mark Davis.
