Mary Evelyn Truslow Blackburn, 77, of Buena Vista, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009 in Golden Living Center.

She was born July 26, 1931 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the last John and Mary Brooks Truslow.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Petie" Blackburn.

Mrs. Blackburn loved classical music, the three tenors and the beach. She had a very mischievious spirit and loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving are daughter, Marianna Coleman; husband, Larry and their children, Dawn and Michael Coleman of Buena Vista; son, Anthony "Gino" Blackburn, wife, Karen and their children; Christopher and Cory Blackburn of Staunton; son, Vince Blackburn and his daughter, Morgan Marie Blackburn of Colonial Heights; daughter, Roma Bates, husband, David and their daughter, Elizabeth Erin Bates-Javidan of Buena Vista; two great grandchildren, Taazha Kincaid and Hunter Coleman.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2009 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral A Chapel with Rev. David Bain officiating.
