Obituary for Margaret Howard O'Meara Margaret Howard O'Meara
Was Retired Purchasing Agent For H. O. Canfield

Margaret Howard O'Meara, age 76, of 313 Alleghany Street, Clifton Forge, died Friday, May 29, 2009 at The Golden Living Center, Clifton Forge.

Born April 27, 1933 in the Springwood area of Botetourt County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Robert G. Howard, Sr. and Virginia Young Howard.

She was a retired purchasing agent for the former H. O. Canfield of Iron Gate and was a member of Clifton Forge Baptist Church.

She loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, WVU football games and was a big supporter of Alleghany High School Athletics.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Iris Piercy.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Thomas G. "Tom" O'Meara of Clifton Forge; a son Thomas G. "T. G." O'Meara, Jr. and his wife, Debbie of Clifton Forge; two sisters, Joyce Black of New Jersey, and Jan Warlitner and her husband, Gary of Clifton Forge; two brothers, R. G. Howard, Jr. and his wife, Alice of Clifton Forge and William "Bill" Howard and his wife, Betty of Clifton Forge; three grandchildren, Philip O'Meara, Matthew O'Meara, and Stephanie O'Meara; one great grandson, Gabriel Thomas O'Meara, and one great-granddaughter, Chelsea Faith O'Meara.

A graveside funeral service was held on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. in Springwood Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend J. Glenn Linthicum officiating. Interment followed. There was no formal visitation; however, friends may visit with the family following the service. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Clifton Forge Baptist Church P.O. Box 121 Clifton Forge, VA 24422.

The Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, Virginia, handled the arrangements.
