Korean War Veteran Retired From Burlington Industries

Louis Edward Patterson, 81, of Brattons Run went to be with his Lord on July 6, 2009.

He was born December 22, 1927 to Mildred Clark Patterson and James Patterson.

Mr. Patterson was a U. S. Army veteran, having served with the 32nd Infantry in Korea.

He retired with 42 years of service from Burlington Industries.

He was a new member of Kerrs Creek Baptist Church.

Louis was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard Patterson.

Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Martha Kirby Patterson; three daughters, Pamela Staton and husband, Roger; Virginia Truslow and husband, David; and Angela Layne and husband, Stephen; eight grandchildren: Cara Eutsler, Jamey Staton, David Truslow, Jr., Stephanie Ballard, Samantha Hoke, Sara Hayes, Carolyn Truslow and Stacy Layne; seven great grandchildren; sisters, Ruby Jane Craft, Corita Owens, Ardena Coleman and Rosa Trussell; many friends and neighbors, especially, Rick and Sue Schwenk.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2009 at Harrsion Funeral Chapel with Rev. Sebby Volpe officiating. Burial will follow in Goshen Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kerrs Creek Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
