Donald E. Humphreys, 72, of 130 W. Phillip Street, Covington, Virginia, died Thursday, July 23, 2009 at Alleghany Regional Hospital in Low Moor.

He was born July 15, 1937 in Covington, a son of the late Howard and Patty Rock Humphreys.

Surviving are his bother, W. Milton Humphreys and his wife, Allie of Covington; his sister, Jane Humphreys with whom he had made his home; two nephews, William M. Humphreys, Jr. of Newport News and Terry A. Humphreys and his wife, Lorrie of Covington; a step nephew, Robert E. McFadden of Richmond and three great nieces and one great nephew.

A graveside service was held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2009 in the Salem Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Organ Cave with the Rev. Donnie Bowker officiating.

The family suggests that memorial donations may be made in Mr. Humphreys name to: The Edgemont A.R. Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 2306 S. Church Ave., Covington, VA 24426.
