Carl Joseph Majors, 65, of Buena Vista, died Tuesday, August 4, 2009 in VA Medical Center, Salem.

He was born July 30, 1944 in Buena Vista, a son of the late Burton Lee Majors and Cindie Sorrells Majors.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter.

Surviving are his wife, Bernice Majors; four sons, Dennis Gilbert, Jeff Gilbert, Ray Gilbert, and Mike Gilbert; one daughter, Lisa Majors Lilley, all of Buena Vista; one brother, Paul Majors, of Buena Vista; two sisters, Anna O'Conner of Buena Vista and Peggy Lucas of Waynesboro; four grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 7, 2009 at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens with Rev. David Bain officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Arrangements are being handled by the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Buena Vista, Virginia.
