Marjorie E. Wolfe, of Buena Vista, was born on August 25, 1921 and died on August 5, 2009 at the age of 87.

She was born and raised in Buena Vista, VA.

She lived much of her adult life in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area where she had a long and distinguished career with the Marriott Corporation.

She was active in several social and voluntary organizations (e.g., Moose Lodge and the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 126 Buena Vista) and was known, loved, and respected for her commitment to her community and especially the well-being of children.

She is survived by five children: Steve Fleming, Jeff Fleming, Kathy Fleming-Shirbach, Durward Potter, and Tim Wolfe, as well as two brothers and two sisters: Russell Bowen, James "Buddy" Bowen, Evelyn Sorrell and Chris Wills. She has 16 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.

A memorial service to honor her life and legacy will be held on Wednesday, August 12th at 11:00 a.m. at the First Brethren Church on 29th street in Buena Vista. In lieu of flowers, Marjorie asked that a donation be made to any local organization that supports children and youth.
