Nancy Ellen Stock McClure age 83, of Chester, Virginia passed away early on August 12, 2009 at Chippenham Medical Center in Richmond.
Nancy was born in the mountains of Virginia on March 21, 1926 to the late SueElla Withrow Stock.
She was married in 1951 and enjoyed a life of travel and adventure with her military spouse, Joseph Whitmer McClure.
When Nancy was not maintaining a family on the go, she volunteered at local hospitals, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, school events and for other social causes.
She was sincerely loved by everyone who knew her and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph McClure II of Chester; a daughter, Sharon Kim Sweet and husband, Frank; a son Joseph, W. McClure III and wife, Katherine; four grandchildren, and a sister, Peggy Maydian, Cameron Sweet, Sam Sweet, Jessica McClure, and Lauren McClure.
A funeral service was held on Friday at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Rob McRae officiating. Interment followed in Locust Bottom Cemetery, Glen Wilton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Nicely Funeral Home.
