Former Millboro Resident Dies In Fredericksburg

Mollie N. Matheney Williams, age 80, of 6706 Reindeer Court, Fredericksburg, Virginia, formerly of Millboro, Virginia died Friday August 21, 2009 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg.

She was born December 13, 1928 in Millboro, Virginia, a daughter of the late Daniel J. and Ida Riley Matheney.

She was of the Baptist Faith and a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Rodney Lynn Williams; two sisters, Mable Smith and Emma Ross; three brothers, Daniel Matheney, Jr., Howard Samuel Matheney, and Homer Matheney.

She is survived by a daughter, Rose Marie Martin of Stafford; a son, Roger Williams and his wife, Nancy of Fredericksburg; two sisters, Norma Swearengin and her husband, Carl of Millboro and Ruby Jane Williams of Staunton; two brothers, Ernest Matheney of Millboro and John Matheney and his wife, Mary of Millboro; four grandchildren: Ida Jean Young and her husband, Jamie; Sandi Christine Williams, Cliff Lee Martin, and Ruby Dale and her husband, Champion; five great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Rev. David George officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor. Active pallbearers will be, C.J. Matheney, Lennie Smith, Lester Swearengin, Gary Williams, Clifford Lee Martin, Joshua Webb, Fred Offenbacker, and Glen Swearengin. The family received friends on Monday evening at Nicely Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to The American Cancer Society, Alleghany Highlands Division, C/O Karen Buzzard, 807 McCormick Blvd, Clifton forge, VA 24422.
