Dianne Lynn Conner Vess age 60, of 809 Rose Avenue, Clifton Forge, died Friday, August 28, 2009 at Alleghany Regional Hospital, Low Moor.

Born January 3, 1949 in Alleghany County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Emmett and Ethel Fisher Conner.

She was a housekeeper for the former Liberty House Nursing Home and Alleghany Regional Hospital and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandmother, Bertha Fisher; an uncle, E. J. Fisher; a brother-in-law, Marion Eugene Vess; sister-in-law, Betty Vess Brown; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Nelson and Joyce Nicely Vess.

She is survived by her husband, David N. Vess of Clifton Forge; a son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Pam Thompson of Covington; a mother-in-law, Leona Conner of Covington; an aunt, four brothers-in law and sisters-in-law, Steve and Becky Vess of Iron Gate, Dennis and Diane Vess of Clifton Forge, Mary and Bill Campbell of Low Moor, VA, and Michael Dale Vess and girlfriend, Betty of Covington; and two grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Pastor Bill Dillon officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home, and other times at the residence of Steve and Becky Vess, 407 Tannery Row, Iron Gate, VA.
