Glasgow Native Dies In Arizona

Lucille Edwards Ayers Grim, 93, of Natural Bridge Station, died Tuesday, September 15, 2009 in Yuma, Arizona.

She was born February 19, 1916 in Glasgow, the daughter of the late John Ernest Edwards and Daisy Watts Edwards.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Andy Grim; brothers: Melvin E. Edwards, L. D. Edwards, Coy E. Edwards, and C. N. Edwards.

She was a member of the High Bridge Presbyterian Church and was a retired school teacher.

She enjoyed quilting, reading, and crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her son, J. C. Ayers, Jr. and wife, Daris of Goshen; a daughter, Sandra Greene and husband, Wayne of Yuma, AZ; stepchildren, Mattie Mae Grim of Richmond, VA; Paul Grim of Roanoke, VA; Bobby Grim and wife, Mary of Roanoke; a brother, Robert L. Edwards of Ocala, FL; and a sister, Ollie Huff of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren: Melinda Greene, Zane Greene, Melissa Bryant and husbnad, Bobby; Joey Ayers; great grandchild, Tabitha Bryant; special friends: Millie and Bernie of Natural Bridge.

Special thanks to her caregiver, Shane St. Clair and the Hospice of Yuma, Arizona.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2009 at the High Bridge Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Louis Skidmore and the Rev. Jason Grimes officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
