Cleone Humphries Cashdan, 92, formerly of Oak Street, Covington, Virginia, died Monday, September 21, 2009 at The Woodlands in Clifton Forge.

She was born March 29, 1917 in Greenbrier County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Pearl Layne Humphries.

Mrs. Cashdan retired from K-Mart in Covington and was an employee of the former Industrial Rayon Corp. She attended Christ United Methodist Church while living in Covington. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Samuel Cashdan in 1995; one brother, Ray Humphries, a sister, Merita Dunbrack and a nephew, William Berkley Dunbrack.

Surviving are three nieces: Gail Washburn and her husband, Larry; Becky Bowers and her husband, Dolan, all of Covington and Susan Gircsis and her husband, Robert of Medina, Ohio; and one nephew, Lawrence P. Dunbrack of Medina, Ohio.

The funeral service will be held Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m. in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Michael Fleenor officiating.

The family will receive their friends following the funeral service at the funeral home.

The interment will be made at a later date in the Arlington National Cemetery.
