Worked As Manager For Cato's, Super Dollar Stores

Virginia Mildred Staton Statome, 79, of Old Buena Vista Road, Buena Vista, entered into Heaven on September 24, 2009 after a long illness.

She was born August 10, 1930 to Love and Effie Staton. Virginia was a devoted Sunday School teacher, sister, wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She worked at Cato's in Buena Vista before becoming the manager of Cato's in Lexington and Covington, and the Super Dollar in Glasgow and Buena Vista.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents and brother Ralph.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Sharon and husband, Jay Brown of Virginia Beach; Mikey, Daryl, and Jay Statome of Buena Vista; sisters, Shirley Moore, Barbara Mace & Priscilla Sorrells; brothers, Henry Rosevelt, Bobby, Charles, Ronnie, Larry and Lloyd Staton. four grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, September 28, 2009 at First Brethren Church in Buena Vista. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 27, 2009 from 4-6 at the Bolling, Grose, and Lotts Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Smals officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Rockbridge Area Hospice in memory of Virginia.

Arrangements are being handled by the Bolling, Grose, and Lotts Funeral Home, Buena Vista, Virginia.
