Elizabeth (Lib) Lunsford Mayo, 80, of Vesuvius, died Sunday, November 8, 2009 in Augusta Medical Center.

Born March 19, 1929 in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late Alfred Morrison and Alberta Humphrey Morrison.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Tom and Carl Morrison and a sister, Katherine Robertson.

Mrs. Mayo was a member of Vesuvius Baptist Church.

Surviving are five children: Jean Byers and husband, Dennis, Debbie Chandler of Stuarts Draft, Mike Mayo and wife, Leigh of Collierstown, Patty Tomlin and husband, Jerry of Vesuvius, Doug Mayo and wife, Cindy of Stuarts Draft; three sisters, Lucille Mueller, Bernice Wendenborn of Stamford, TX, Ruth "Pete" Cox of Fairfield; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Cemetery with Rev. Judson Baldwin and Henry Black officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, Rockbridge Community Unit, Box 100, Lexington, VA 24450. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, and at other times at the home of her daughter, Debbie Chandler, Stuarts Draft.
