Obituary for Milton Goodbar Milton Goodbar
Navy Veteran Retired From Chittum Insurance

Milton Goodbar, 76, of Lexington, Virginia, died at home on Sunday, March 14, 2010.

He was born April 10, 1933, in Rockbridge County, a son of the late John R. and Josie Mabel Goodbar.

Mr. Goodbar is survived by his wife of 44 years, Evelyn Towler Goodbar; and one daughter, Marci Lawhorne and her husband, Chip; two grandchildren, Savannah and Trace Lawhorne.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Mr. Goodbar was also survived by three sisters, Helen Lindemuth and husband, Harry, Wauline Hill, and twin sister, Marion Leslie and husband, Bobby; and brother, Johnny Goodbar and wife, Shirley.

Mr. Goodbar was employed by Lee's Carpets and later retired from Chittum Insurance as President and Manager.

He was a United States Navy veteran.

He was also a member of Calvary Brethren Church and loved the Lord.

He was a longtime member of the Lexington Moose Lodge and K.P. Lodge. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.

The funeral will be conducted by Pastor Josh Jacobs at Calvary Brethren Church at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, with burial following at Natural Bridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Brethren Church Youth Group, 1365 Woodland Avenue, Buena Vista, Va. 24416.
