Charles Buddy Countrymen, 81, of Buena Vista, Virginia, died Monday, March 22, 2010 at his home.

Bud was born March 25, 1928, the son of the late Christopher Countrymen and Mary Belchee Countrymen and was married to Nancy Throckmorton Countrymen.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Korean conflict and was a member of the Buena Vista Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are his son, Christopher Countrymen; grandson, Ryan Countrymen and wife, BethAnne; great grandson, Asher Countrymen; great granddaughter, Chloe Ann Countrymen; special friend, Susan Countrymen; sister-in-law, Doris Carter and husband, James; three brothers, Robert McKinney, Richard Wilson and wife, Janice and Theodore Wilson and wife, Marie; six sisters, Maude Clark, Betty Ward, Lois Woodby, Dorothy Renfro, Ruth King and husband, Charlie, and Patricia Harrell and husband, Jacky; many nieces and nephews; and many, many friends. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2010 at Buena Vista Seventh Day Adventist Church, 2335 Magnolia Avenue, Buena Vista, VA, with Pastors Jeff Taylor and Rick Labate officiating. Dinner will follow in the church fellowship hall, where Nancy will be able to visit with family and friends.

Burial will be held on Sunday, March 28, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. at the Oakland Cemetery in Scottsburg, VA.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Buena Vista Seventh Day Adventist Church. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Bolling, Gross & Lotts Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Buena Vista, VA.
