He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ethel Virginia, and a son, John E., a brother, Jack and his parents, John E. Arrington and Ethel Auton Arrington.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Toombs Arrington of Covington; a son, Everett and Trivia of Lewisburg; Frank of Oak Hill, WV; John of Phoenix, AZ; daughters, Wanda of Fayetteville, WV; Joan, Eva and Karen, all of Oak Hill, WV and Ruth of Wilmington NC; four step sons, Greg and Katherine Woodson of Clifton Forge; Steve and Daisy Woodson of Clifton Forge; Jim and Debbie Woodson of Clifton Forge and Tom and Diane Woodson of Waynesboro; one sister, Betty Fitizgerald of Covington and a brother, Thomas Arrington of Covington; and numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
