Houston David Fox, 88, of Buena Vista, Va., passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

Born March 7, 1922, in Buena Vista, he was a son of the late Isaac David Fox and Nannie Pugh Fox.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nannie "Arlene" Staton Fox; two brothers; a sister; and two half sisters.

Mr. Fox was a member of the First Brethren Church.

Surviving are four sons, Nelson Fox and wife, Pat, Ricky Fox, Tony Fox and wife, Sharon, all of Buena Vista; Lenny Fox and wife, Heather, of Lexington; three daughters, Loretta Alouf and husband, Dr. Donald Alouf, of Roanoke, Ruby Grow and husband, Gwynn, Susan Wilson and husband, Chris, of Buena Vista; special brother-in-law, W. K. Staton; nine grandchildren, Melisa Tomlin, Matthew Grow, Nelson Fox Jr., Tom Fox and wife, Kristin, Zachary Fox, Tanner Fox, Andrew Wilson, Justin Wilson, and Elijah Fox; three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 28, 2010, at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Butch Grow officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
