Kenneth Wayne (Skin) Lawhorn, 67, of Buena Vista, Virginia, died Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at Lewis Gale Hospital in Salem, VA.

He was born October 20, 1942 in Rockbridge County, the son of the late Elmer Vaden Lawhorne and Thelma Coffey Lawhorne.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Lawhorne.

Skin is survived by a son, Scott Vaden Lawhorne and a precious granddaughter, Rheanna Brynn Lawhorn; grateful appreciation to Stephanie Tomlin special friend of the family, mother of his granddaughter and caregiver; four sisters, Joyce Spangler and Sharon Williams, both of Vinton, VA; Janice Oyler of Lexington, VA; Carol Ross of Roanoke; one brother, Richie Lawhorne of Buena Vista, VA. Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2010 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Butch Grow officiating. Burial followed in Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 2010 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Buena Vista, VA.
